Health insurance card

Registration

When you arrive at the clinic, the Health Insurance Card must be registered by running the card through the card reader at the entrance.

It has 2 features:

1. It will be registered in our COMPUTER system that you have arrived. Then we’ll see you’re ready to be called in.

2. When the card is registered, the health insurance can see that you have been here. It is used for the control of the medical centre. If the card is not registered we will not be honored for our work.

Note New rules from 1 August

2014 when travelling
After August 1, 2014, you will no longer be able to use your yellow health card as travel insurance. Instead, you can use the European Blue Health Insurance Card or private travel insurance.

The yellow health card and the European Health Insurance Card (blue card) cannot be used outside Europe; you need private insurance.

Please note that special rules apply to the coverage of chronic diseases, e.g. high blood pressure. If you are unsure if you are covered with the yellow health card, you can ask at SOS International A/S, which administers the public travel health insurance.
